This is a popular beginners’ circuit that is approximately a 7.5km loop. The adventure begins at the historic Portvale Sugar Factory yard, where adventurers get up close and personal to the factory.

The journey ventures through a piece of the small community that sprung up around the factory. Hikers can see how persons would have blended the remnants of coral stone homes with modern architecture and design, before detouring and venturing into the local gully.

Ultimately, this hike’s greatest challenge and adventure comes as it journies through a section of the Orange Hill gully and water course, following as it twists and turns and ultimately grows into a behemoth with large river features and former waterfalls. This often leaves persons awestruck at the amount of water that ventures through our gullies and watercourses as we traverse our regular day to day lives.
