This is a popular beginners’ circuit that is approximately a 7.5km loop. The adventure begins at the Ragged Point Lighthouse, also known as East Point and features Barbados’ largest offshore island, Culpepper Island. The adventure journeys over many naturally occurring streams and rivers highlighting to locals many of the natural sources of water within the greater St. Philip and St. John area.

After journeying across these areas, the adventure detours close to a gully area in the heart of the built-up area of Fortescue that blends both the island’s natural beauty and sub-urban tranquility. After taking in one of the furthest communities on the island, the adventure then turns towards one of two sources of streams the journey will visit. Ultimately stopping at a bridge where the Tree Houses river runs for a much needed cool down.

Overall, this circuit is rated as an easy venture as it often serves as an introduction to the island’s trails and land features. It also visits several beautiful locations for photo opportunities, encouraging everyone to stop and take in the greater outdoors.

It must be noted that while the route is rated as easy, there is the option to further simplify the route if the guide ascertains that this would be necessary.
